    Treasures Report

The Treasures Report dated May 3, 2008 was read by Cathy Milner and accepted.

Balance on Hand as of February 9, 2008 was $5441.85.

Total Income was $391.00.

Disbursements were $868.87.

Balance on hand May 3, 2008 is $4963.98.

    

    Election

Election of out going directors, Ralph Noggle, Paul Reckelburg, and Pete Burno.

Appointed Election Chairman Jim Connor

Dean Meissner nominated Jim Laven who accepted

Charlie Hendrickson nominated Ralph Noggle who accepted

Mike Wahl nominated Paul Reckelburg who accepted

Mike Wahl nominated Robert Ristow who accepted

Mike Wahl nominated Pete Deets who accepted

A ballot vote was taken and the following Board Members were elected. Jim Laven, Paul Reckelburg  and Pete Deets.

Charlie Hendrickson nominated Mike Wahl for President who accepted. Robert Ristow made a motion and Lee Nelson seconded to elect Mike Wahl for president the motion carried.

Nomination for vice president

Kurt Umnus nominated Dean Meissner who declined.

Pete Deets nominated Charlie Hendrickson

Paul Reckelburg nominated Pete Deets

Tim Klade made a motion to close the nomination.

A show of hands was agreed by all. 22 hands for Charlie Hendrickson. 

Nomination/election for treasurer

Charlie Hendrickson nominated Kathy Milner as treasurer. Lee Nelson made a motion to close the nomination. A motion was made and seconded to elect Kathy Milner as treasurer. The motion carried.

Nomination/election for secretary

Mike Wahl nominated Vicky Bloemers as secretary. A motion was made to close the nomination. A motion was made and seconded to elect Vicky Bloemers as secretary. The motion carried.

A special thanks to out going directors Ralph Noggle and Pete Burno and out going  vice president Paul Reckelburg for their service to this organization.

    Steam School Report

Jeff Bloemers said the 2008 Steam School will take place on September 26, 27, & 28 with the fee remaining at $50 per person.

The Saturday night meal will be an optional pig roast for a fee of $10 per person.

Jeff reported that he has 19 students signed up as of to date and encourages members to sign up for next year’s school. 

Jeff has flyers available for this years steam school.

Jeff said he will place a quarter page ad in the April/May issue of Engineers and Engines magazine. 

He also submitted a short article with pictures to Engineers and Engines and Farm Collector magazine.

Engineers and Engines said they will publish it but he has not heard back from Farm Collector yet.

Jeff said he has a few left over 2007 steam school manuals and is selling them for $5 each. He also has copies of the Case Steam Engine Manual and Steam Traction Engineer's Checklist available as well.

Jeff said that a $3000 donation will possibly be made to the Rock River to be used for projection and audio equipment.

Discussion was held regarding the steam school manual or possible an outline and whether or not it should be mailed to the student prior to class.

        Website Report

A motion was made and carried to reimburse Vicky $13 for postage used to send meeting reminder post cards out for the February meeting.

She also said that she received an email regarding website host renewal. The cost to renew for a year is $107. This is up from last year which was $62. She will investigate to see why and to see if there is a break for a more lengthy renewal.

A motion was made and carried that Vicky use her discretion regarding host renewal.

NBIC (National Board Inspection Code) Report

     Appendix C has been renamed as Supplement 2.

     Charlie Hendrickson’s Emergency Procedures is footnoted in Supplement 2. He said our organization has accomplished a lot in five years and we should be very proud.

    Tom Dillon spoke about the last operational powered steam boat the Delta Queen. As of November 1, 2008 a certificate of exemption will no longer be issued. For more information go to savethedeltaqueen.com.

    Steam School Instructor Jim Nowell asked Mike to speak re: support for the 2010 steam conference.

    Final Remarks and Next Meeting

     Paul Reckelberg brought in information regarding the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc, WI for the fall meeting location. 

     He said we could get a group rate of $10 per person for a 2-3 hour tour. he will present more information at the next meeting.

     The cost for a meeting room with chairs would be $40. The cost for a meeting room with Tables and chairs would be $75.

     A motion was made and carried to hold the next meeting in Manitowoc at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum on November 1 with November 8 as a back up date.

Dennis Lauer brought in a cost estimate for buttons and patches to be made with the club logo on them. 

Buttons would cost $2.20 each. One 4” patch would cost $2.20, buy 100 and there is no set up or shipping fee.

Charlie Hendrickson made a motion to purchase 100 patches at $2.31 a piece and to sell them for $4. A discussion took place.

A motion was made and seconded to purchase 100

Charlie Hendrickson made a motion and Dean Meissner seconded it to allow Dennis and Betsy Lauer to purchase 100 2 ˝” patches and 100 4” patches and sell them for $3 each or $5 for both. The motion carried.
