General Meeting Minutes

May 2, 2009, 1:00 p.m.

Badger Steam & Gas Engine Show grounds, Baraboo, WI

 

Meeting was called to order by Pete Deets.

 

Secretary Minutes

Secretary minutes of the January 24, 2009 meeting were read and accepted by Vicky Mayer.

 

Treasures Report

The Treasures Report dated May 2nd, 2009 was read and accepted by Cathy Milner. Balance on Hand as of May 2nd was $6315.09.

 

Elections

Board of Directors whose term is up are Jeff Bloemers, Charlie Hendrickson, and Mike Wahl. There were no nominations. Motion was made for incumbents to so secede themselves. The motion carried.

 

Election of Club officers. Current officers are Mike Wahl, president, Charlie Hendrickson, vice president, Vicky Mayer, secretary, Cathy Milner, treasurer. There were no nominations. A motion was made for the incumbents to secede themselves. The motion carried.

 

NBIC (National Board Inspection Code) Report

Pete Deets said that there will be a reformation of the committee to the sub group on historical boilers and Mike Wahl and Tom Dillon have been ask to sit on the committee. No agenda has been set. Mikes feeling is that the return flu will be discussed. The next meeting is in Columbus, OH on July 21, 2009. Pete Deets said that Supplement 2 was voted on September 8 and accepted on September 30.

 

Nothing new on the state level.

 

Steam School Report

Jeff Bloemers said the 6th annual Steam School will take place on September 25, 26, & 27, 2009 with the fee remaining at $50 per person. He said the last three years gave been filled to capacity. He has posters available for this years steam school. Jeff said that no equipment has been purchased yet with the $3,500 donation made to the Rock River Thresheree club and that an additional $500 will be provided by the Wisconsin Historical Steam Engine Association if needed. He said that the board has grated permission to the steam school committee to use their discretion in regards to the equipment purchase. Jeff said that the youth scholarship deadline has been extended to July 1, 2009.

 

New Business

Ralph Noggle suggested the Wisconsin Automotive Museum in Hartford, WI for a potential meeting place. He said food can be served and we would get a group rate of $6 per person for the tour.

 

Jerry Sanders has offered his place in Fairwater, WI for the next meeting.

 

Vicky Mayer read an email from member Kent Milam who asked that his membership be in active due to the fact that he has been deployed to Iraq. The Wisconsin Historical Steam Engine Association agreed to pay for Kent Milam’s membership dues and a letter will be sent to Kent Milam explaining that his dues have been paid and thanking him for his service.

 

It was decided that anyone else who is in active military service that their membership dues be paid by the club.

 

Pete thanked Ralph for looking into the Wisconsin Automotive Museum in Hartford, WI.

 

It was agreed to reimbursed Vicky Mayer $18.48 for postage for meeting reminders for this meeting.

 

Next Meeting

The nexr meeting will be on November 7, 2009 at the following times; steam school committee 10:00 a.m., Board of directors at 11:00 a.m., and the general meeting to be held at 12:00 p.m. Tours will be after the general meeting and lunch will be provided.
