Wisconsin Historical Steam Engine Association General Meeting Minutes November 7, 2009 Jerry Sanders Homestead Fairwater, WI
Call to Order Meeting called to order at by Mike Wahl at 12:44 p.m. Approximately 42 members present, Minutes of the May 2, 2009 meeting were read and accepted. The Treasures Report dated November 7, 2009 was read by Cathy Milner. Balance on Hand as of November 7, 2009 was $6939.74. Jeff Bloemers said the 6th annual Steam School’s attendance was down a little this year with 31 students attending. 2010Steam School dates are September 24, 25, and 26 @ Rock River. $50 fee will remain the same. WHSEA will again offer two youth scholarships for ages 12-18 to the WHSEA supporting clubs members. A new power point projector, screen and sound system has been purchased from the money that was donated to the Rock River Thresheree club from the A.S.O.P.E ($3500.00) and WHSEA ($500.00). Total cost of equipment was $4003.73. A Thank You and pictures of the equipment purchased with the donation money was sent to the A.S.O.P.E. Jeff said 2010 steam school registration forms are now being accepted. Jeff thanked Pete Deets for finding the equipment. Mike Wahl was not able to attend the July NBIC meeting that was in Columbus, OH on July 22, 2009. He plans to attend the next meeting on January 18, 2010 in Austin, TX. A motion was made and seconded to reimburse Mike Wahl for trip expenses. The motion carried. The next meeting is on January 23 2010 at the Jerry Sanders Homestead in Fairwater, WI. The spring meeting which is also the annual meeting will be held on May 8, 2010 in Wabeno, WI. Mike thanks Jerry and Debbie for being Hosts to this meeting. Instead of a monetary donation Jerry and Debbie asked that a scholarship be given in their name which was amended to be in Harry Kline’s name. The January meeting will be a discussion of boiler codes. Vicky said she sent a letter to the WI Automotive Museum thanking them for their offer to host a meeting for us. Vicky asked for reimbursement for $20.24 for postage-46 membership cards sent in mail and $11.88 for postage for the fall newsletter. Meeting Adjournment 1:29 p.m. |
